The Dorset Construction Training Forum.

2013 is our fourth year as a group and we are going from strength to strength with new training courses coming on line to meet our members needs.  We are currently adding Temporary Works Supervisor training to our list.

Was originally founded in 1994 by  Alan Connell of SE Connell & Son, with the help of the CITB and few other local construction businesses that understood the need to train their most valuable assest, their staff.

The group was created to provide a platform for any construction based company in Dorset, regardless of its size, to access training specific to their needs and their budget.  One of the aims of the group is to share best practice amongst its members.

The group is a non-profit making organisation.  All monies are re-invested in training needs of its members.

Legislation

As we are all aware legislation means that we are obligated to train our personnel.  This can be an onerous and expensive task, which our companies can not escape.  The Dorset Construction Training Forum works co-operatively to try and make things easier.    In the construction industry the training needs can be diverse but we try and cover all of our members needs offering a wide range of training such as;- 5 day SMSTS course, scaffold inspection course, working at heights, CDM regulations, risk assessments/method statements, 1st aid courses, but to name a few of the courses completed within the past 12 months.

We strive to drive down the cost of training, share training facilities, introduce new training concepts, carry out group training and source quality training for our members.  Our members are our strength and we rely on their participation and contribution to produce effective results.

We have the flexibiltiy to ensure all training is carried out at a local venue at a time and date convenient to suite all attending.

Any Dorset based construction company who is not currently a member should consider joining and reap the benefits.  To keep standards and safety levels high, regular training is essential and for small companies this can be costly and time consuming to organise.  Joining forces with the DCTF can help in this respect and benefits both employers and employees"
